Planet Zoo 2 comparisons
Last verified 2026-10-14
These pages answer a buying question, not a lore question. Scores cited elsewhere are press scores with a date, not a score I assigned.
I split “is it different from 1” from “should I wait” because those are different decisions. One wants a feature table. The other wants a timing answer after launch.

Pick the decision
Already own the first game: read the versus page. On the fence after launch: read should-I-buy. Nostalgic for Zoo Tycoon: that page is a category comparison, not a port.
Questions people ask
Is Planet Zoo 2 just a remaster?
No. Aquariums, flying birds and reserves are new systems.
Should I play the first game first?
The sequel's listing does not identify the first game as a prerequisite. Choose either game for its features and current store offer; a cheaper price is not assumed.
