Animal housing and conservation
Aquariums use a barrier and staff gate, with a filtration network controlling salinity. Flying habitats use a mesh roof and species-specific flight space. Exhibit housing remains a separate system for its listed animals.
Wildlife Reserves let you establish ecosystems, prepare suitable release groups and study animals through monitoring networks. A finalised group cannot return to the zoo; Quick Release is a separate route to immediate Conservation Credits.
Modes and creative tools
Career provides scenario objectives. Sandbox has configurable economy and welfare settings, including Default, Creative and Challenge presets. Franchise requires online access and a Frontier account. Planet Hub follows progress, research and conservation across modes.
Scenery tools include scaling and Flexi-colour. Terrain paints, Nature Brush and blueprints support construction; Frontier Workshop shares parks and blueprints. These features do not establish live co-op.
Seasons and Photo Mode
Frontier's September development roundup describes the seasons system. Its 7 October Photo Mode post documents zoom, roll and depth-of-field controls for zoos and reserves.
The Photo Mode announcement also describes a WWF UK photography competition planned for later in October 2026. That announcement does not provide a specific opening date.
