Building tools

GuidesNature Brush and Random Rotation are documented official controls. Blueprints reuse a selection, but do not automatically guarantee habitat welfare.
Source-based instructions checked on 14 October 2026, not a hands-on play report. Menu names follow Frontier's English guides; custom bindings and platform layouts may differ.
Nature Brush and random rotation
Open Nature Brush from the tools panel. Choose a preconfigured brush or create a custom combination of plants and rocks. Frontier permits up to 20 nature objects in one custom brush. Paint the intended area and check species foliage and space requirements.
When placing objects on the default PC layout, semicolon toggles Random Rotation. X enters Advanced Move/Rotate; Space toggles angle snap. These are placement controls, not terrain or animal-need values.
Create or install a blueprint
Select the build with Multi-Select. Choose Save Selection as Blueprint, then + New Blueprint. Add the required name, description and type, set tags and preview image, then Create New Blueprint.
For a community build, open Frontier Workshop from the pause menu or Blueprints browser, select a creation and choose Install Blueprint. It appears in the Frontier Workshop area of the Blueprint menu. Check available research, enclosure validity and welfare after placing it.
What does 120 m2 climbing mean?
The Sumatran Orangutan's official page displays 120 m2 climbing space. This is a species requirement, not the dimensions of one mandatory object or a universal climbing-frame blueprint. Build traversable climbing surfaces and inspect the animal's space requirements; other species have different values.
