Performance and graphics settings
Last verified 2026-10-14
TroubleshootingFrontier publishes a Medium-settings minimum target and a High-settings recommended target. They are reference targets for the listed hardware, not measured FPS for your zoo.
No benchmark or optimal settings table was measured here. The console complexity meter and the PC requirements describe different constraints; neither justifies reducing animals below their social needs.
What the official note supports
Published targets are at least 30 FPS on Medium for the minimum preset and 30 FPS on High for the recommended preset. Compare your exact hardware first; an unlisted model is not automatically equivalent.
As an editorial diagnostic, compare the same save and camera at Medium and High and record your frame rate. This is not a verified universal fix. Animal and guest populations affect simulation workload; always preserve social-group and welfare requirements.
Frontier announced performance and stability work in Update 1.0.4. Check your installed build and the official notes; this page does not claim the rollout is complete or predict the improvement.
